The Responsorial Psalm (Ps 110): A messianic prophecy: "You are a priest forever, in the line of Melchizedek".
The Holy Gospel (Mark 2:18-22): When questioned why His disciples do not fast, Jesus uses the imagery of the wedding feast, declaring that guests cannot fast while the Bridegroom is with them. He concludes with the parable of the wineskins, reminding us that "new wine is poured into fresh wineskins".

Let us ask the Lord today to stretch our hearts so that we might fully contain the "new wine" of His Spirit and live out His message of love and justice.
