Space to the Music

Описание: Join us Thursday, December 2nd, 2021 (1:00 pm EST, 19:00 CET), for a special event of the Italian Association of Canadian Studies annual conference (Bologna, December 2-3-4, 2021), live from Toronto and Bologna, with the support of the Istituto Italiano di Cultura Toronto and under the patronage of the Canadian Embassy in Italy.

While this year’s AISC annual theme "Traditions and Social Innovation" aims at offering scholars working in a wide range of disciplines a fruitful occasion for investigating recent changes and adaptations in the Canadian context, this special event “Space to the Music” aims at exploring these issues from a cultural point of view, in particular conceiving music as an artistic practice able to foster connections between older and newer generations, working at the intersection between tradition and innovation.

This special event will take place live from Toronto and Bologna and will be broadcasted on YouTube and Facebook, with performances by songwriter and Juno winner Dominic Mancuso; internationally recognized concert pianist, composer, and author Rea Beaumont; musician and educator Hannah Burgé; Italian poet, musician and philologist, Francesco Benozzo, and the students of the Conservatory of Music Bologna.
