This is the true story of Shawn Hornbeck, an eleven-year-old boy who disappeared in October 2002 while riding his bicycle near his home in Richwoods, Missouri. Despite extensive searches, tracking dogs, and years of investigation focused on the local area, no trace of Shawn was found. In January 2007, during the investigation of a separate child abduction in another county, police entered an apartment in Kirkwood, Missouri, and discovered Shawn alive, having lived there under another name for more than four years.
