Описание: Every spring I dig out the series of swales on our sloped property. I refill them with woodchips and by the end of the year it has become a great compost to top dress the grow beds with or expand them when and where needed. The swales fill with water multiple times a year, catching sinking and storing this water away from the sun. In turn the moist woodchips call in the insects, in turn calling in the chickens and ducks to feed. While feeding both the birds and insects are pooping adding nitrogen and humus to the mix. The heavy carbon woodchips with the nitrogen added from the birds creates a wonderful soil in less than a year. Have a look :-)
