Le très regretté Samy Elmaghribi, chanteur, musicien, compositeur a marqué pendant de nombreuses années la scène musicale marocaine. Familier du Palais Royal marocain, on disait de lui qu’il était le « roi des chanteurs et le chanteur des rois », il fut l’un des chanteurs préférés de S.M Mohammed V.

Ce documentaire, réalisé à partir d’archives et de nombreux témoignages recueillis au Maroc, en France, en Israël et au Canada sera présenté lors de cette soirée et diffusé par la suite dans les écoles afin de faire découvrir aux jeunes générations un pan important de notre patrimoine musical.


A moving documentary on the life and work of an icon of Arab-Andalusian music, produced by the Unified Sephardic Community of Quebec and the Sephardic Federation of Canada in collaboration with the Samy Elmaghribi Foundation, and designed and directed by Buzzglow. The late Samy Elmaghribi, singer, musician, composer, left his mark on the Moroccan music scene for many years. Familiar with the Moroccan Royal Palace, he was said to be the “king of singers and the singer of kings”, he was one of the favorite singers of HM Mohammed V.

This documentary, produced from archives and numerous testimonies collected in Morocco, France, Israel and Canada, will be presented during this evening and subsequently broadcast in schools in order to introduce young generations to an important part of our musical heritage.
