I will present recent experimental results on bosonic qubits in superconducting circuits. The dual-rail encoding with microwave cavities offers a remarkable hierarchy of error rates and is first-order robust to errors in all operations, where decoherence in both cavity and qubit can be efficiently detected and treated as erasures. This approach enables the improvement of state preparation, measurement, and gates over two orders of magnitude compared to previous bosonic logical qubits. Moreover, when used as the building blocks in other typical QEC schemes such as the surface code, this system is expected to be well beyond threshold. So even for today's device coherences, this new system offers a path for large error correction gains in the near future.
