Tana Brackin: Lisa, this isn't a magic wand but people who are really afraid of the dentist may think it is. We've heard people talk about pain free dentistry before, but even the patients say, with the wand, it really is pain free!

Julie McArthur: It almost is a sickening feeling, makes my stomach turn.

Tana Brackin: Like most people, Julie McArthur hates getting a shot at the dentist office. Today, she is getting a different kind of shot. One that Dr. Debra Gray King promises will be painless. It's called The Wand.

Dr. King: The thing that is so exciting about it is that because it's computerized, it delivers the anesthetic in a constant flow, so we can give virtually painless injections.

Tana Brackin: It's still a needle. That much hasn't changed, but usually what hurts isn't the needle stick, it's the anesthetic forcing it's way into tissue faster than it can be absorbed. The wand's computer delivers the medicine at a slow, controlled, pain free pace.

Dr. King: Most of the patients that I have used this wand on, they don't even know that they've gotten an injection. I pull away and I say, "Ok, well we're done" and they're like "What have we done?"
