How to clean the block of the recorder

Описание: Why clean the block of a wooden recorder? When you notice that your wooden recorder is clogging all the time, and neither physically warming up the instrument before playing nor anticondens will help, it's almost sure that the block is dirty or has mould. The wood of the block is meant to absorb condensation when we play. It can only do this if it's not covered with grease, dirt or mould. How to prevent this? Brushing our teeth before playing, letting the instrument dry after playing (and drying it with a stick and a cotton cloth), and keeping it in an ambience that's not too humid or too dry. But every half year to a year it is a good idea to take the block out, see how the wood is (dirt, mould), and clean it.

In this video, I show you how to clean the block of a wooden recorder: how to take it out, what materials to use, the do's and don'ts and how to put it back in. You will learn step by step how to take care of it although if it's your first time, I strongly recommend you do this under the supervision of someone with a lot of experience.
