Hi everyone! I’m Santa, and I’ll share my U.S. visa interview that got approved as a fresher. This was for my bachelor's in Computer Science at Gannon University.

My interview was on May 30th 2023 at 1:05 PM

The officer started with a simple question: How will this program help you in the future? I had prepared this beforehand. Here’s what I said

"I said, ‘Officer, after graduation, I plan to use my degree to pursue a career in Nepal’s technological industries. I mentioned roles like web developer, software engineer, and system analyst and explained how my skills would contribute to Nepal’s digital transformation.’"

Next, the officer asked: How will you pay for the remaining costs? Here’s what I explained:

"I said, ‘My family will sponsor me. Their combined income is——My father, a retired ranger sergeant major, earns from his pension and stock dividends, while my mother runs a department store. They also have ——— saved just for my education and a ——- retirement fund for emergencies.’"

"Then came the best words: Okay, congratulations, I will be issuing your visa. Have a safe trip.’ I was so excited that I forgot to say thank you!"

Tips for Success

1. Be confident and calm—confidence really matters.
2. Always give truthful and well-prepared answers.
3. Have a clear plan for your future and finances.
