What is evolution, really? When people talk about Darwin’s Theory of Evolution, what do they actually mean?

First, evolution is not just “change.” Everything changes. Cars improve. Computers improve. But those are examples of intelligent design, not biological evolution.

In this video, we explain the difference between microevolution vs macroevolution. Microevolution involves small changes within a kind of creature, like the size of a bird’s beak or the color of its fur. Everyone agrees that small changes happen. That is not debated.

Macroevolution is something very different. It teaches that one kind of creature can slowly change into a completely different kind. For example, it would require countless intermediate fossils between two very different animals. These are called transitional fossils.

Even Charles Darwin admitted in On the Origin of Species that the fossil record did not show the finely graduated links his theory required. Later scientists also raised concerns. N. Heribert Nilsson wrote that decades of experiments failed to demonstrate evolution beyond small changes. Colin Patterson acknowledged the lack of clear transitional fossils.

If macroevolution is true, where are the missing links?

We also examine another key issue: no miracles in evolution. By definition, Neo-Darwinism allows only natural processes. If even one extreme miracle is required, the theory would no longer stand on purely natural explanations.
