#20 K. Russell Abernathy, scientist who, through his experiments with kryptonite, turned himself into living kryptonite and became an enemy of the Superfamily.

#18 A demon living in Metropolis who hunts Superman's soul and to whom Kal-El ultimately surrenders in order to save the city from destruction.
#17 A chaotic imp, less significant than in previous seasons. He let the Joker cheat him out of his powers.
#16 An Irish evil spirit with a death-dealing scream that causes pain to Superman and Supergirl. She joined Lex's Secret Society of Super Villains team.
#15 A mad scientist and master of robotics, he has built himself a sidekick named Toyboy (which other criminals also use).
#14 A creature coveting Superman's powers. He posed as Lois Lane when she attacked Clark.

#2 The tyrant of Apokolips, a cosmic conqueror who poses a constant threat to Earth, he is not afraid to fight Superman himself or send his minions against Kal-El. He kidnapped Supergirl and tried to manipulate her into becoming his "bitch" against Superman. He is the main antagonist in the Superman/Batman series and in Final Crisis, where he "killed" Batman.

#HM1 An officer from Kandor who supports white supremacy, seeks power on Earth, and wants to subjugate women.
#HM2 Superman's evil counterpart from another dimension, usually works as a member of the Crime Syndicate against Kal-El.
#HM3 A super-villain who possesses superhuman strength, radiation-based energy blasts & energy manipulation abilities against Superman.
#HM4 A highly durable and well-armed robot-like character created by Emperor Joker, who later allied himself with #13.
#HM5 Lois Lane's father, a general who hates aliens and was the mastermind behind the destruction of New Krypton.

#1 Although second place has been very close, first place goes to Superman's old arch-enemy again who schemed his way into becoming President of the United States, causing problems for Superman both as a solo enemy and as the leader of various teams. The climax of the entire season came when he gained godlike powers by merging with the Phantom Zone Child to channel all the energy from there as alternatives to remain a god or fight Kal-El at the risk of losing his powers. His choice was obvious, of course.
