Taprobane East Wreck | Shipwreck Dive Off Colombo, Sri Lanka
The Taprobane East is a historic shipwreck located off the coast of Colombo, Sri Lanka, resting at an approximate depth of 33 meters beneath the Indian Ocean. Once a working cargo vessel, the ship eventually sank and settled on the seabed, where it now serves as an artificial reef and a popular deep wreck dive site.
Over time, marine life has completely transformed the wreck. The hull and deck are covered in corals, sponges, and algae, while schools of reef fish surround the structure. Due to its depth and occasional strong currents, this site is recommended for advanced and experienced divers.
