What if the places we gather to eat, drink, and connect could be a source of profound well-being? Entrepreneur Loui Blake reveals a troubling truth: many modern hospitality spaces, once designed for joy and community, now subtly undermine our health through disconnection, toxins, and overstimulation.
Drawing on 15 years of experience, Loui offers a radical new blueprint. He envisions a future where restaurants and social hubs actively heal us- where food is personalized to our biology, spaces are designed to calm the nervous system, and ancient rituals reconnect us to each other and the natural world. This talk masterfully blends wellness, design, and human psychology to challenge how we build our shared culture. It’s an inspiring call to reimagine the very fabric of social life and discover what it truly means to feel alive. Louie Blake’s work focuses on wellness as a way of life. He is the co-founder of Long Lane, a hotel & members club in the British countryside, which seeks to unite wellness & hospitality. He is a partner at GC investments & an angel investor in health brands including Dirtea & FYTA. A keen ultra runner, Louie regularly takes on challenges for charity, most recently completing 7 ultramarathons in 7 days across the UAE for the UN’s refugee appeal. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
