Part 3 of my Greek islands solo travel October 2024 series covers Day 5 and the start of Day 6.

After four nights in Santorini, this is the day I finally leave the island. A ferry strike had already disrupted my plans, forcing an extra unplanned night and cutting my Paros stay down to just one very short stop.

I spend my final day in Santorini quietly pottering around, trying to stay calm while waiting for updates and preparing myself for the only available option off the island. A late-night SeaJets catamaran. Not something I was looking forward to, but it was that or stay stuck.

I arrive in Paros late at night, exhausted but relieved. The following morning I only have a couple of hours spare time to explore before needing to head straight back to the port to continue on to Naxos.

Paros at the end of October is extremely quiet. Most places are closed, the streets are calm, and it feels very different to the busy summer version of the island. Beautiful, but fleeting.

This episode is very much a travel-day video. Waiting around, plans changing, late ferries, quiet islands, and moving on sooner than expected. It’s the reality of island hopping in Greece outside of peak season, especially when you’re travelling solo and relying on ferries.
