Flight 21 Fun Fact – Out of the 5 flights I took throughout Japan, this was the only segment not operated by a wide body. With a population of 124 million people, while only being the same size as the state of California, Japan has a massive demand for domestic travel. Meaning it is easily viable for airlines like Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways to run large wide body aircraft on short, domestic routes. In the past, All Nippon Airways even operated domestic 747-400's configured with over 560 seats.
