I have been using a great usb 3.0 docking station for about 5 years now, mainly for backup purposes but it recently just died suddenly, so I have been looking online for a decent replacement and my choice was focused on this Sabrent model. This is the USB 3.1 version, my motherboard supports up to USB 3.2 gen2 but I was not able to find any docking station supporting that. If you are following my channel you know already that this is not the first Sabrent product I have been reviewing, if you are interested you can check my 1TB Sabrent Rocket M.2 review, great choice for the price, and you might also know that Sabrent is becoming a very popular US brand in pc gaming hardware, as they were also among the first to release a PCIE4 m.2 drive.
As we know from the official specs USB 3.0 is capable of a maximum transfer rate of 5 Gbit/s, while USB 3.1 / 3.1 gen2 doubles that speed reaching 10Gbit/s and USB 3.2 (gen2) doubles the maximum theoretical speed once again bringing the maximum transfer rate up to 20 Gbit/s
The model number is DS-UTC1, I got it for 34$ on Amazon and it's basically a SATA 2.5/3.5 SSD/HDD Docking Station, we will see that we can connect it to our PC via the ordinary usb port or also a usb C port which is quite convenient for many of us.
