Previously, we started the game! After the fishermen of Pilchard Bay set out on the pilchard harvest, Davilas got called to Estard Castle for an audience with the king. Maribel "invited" herself to come along.

The party heads out to the West Estard portion of the overworld (time 0:51). With some lovely snark, she recommends Davilas follow the path north. Davilas explores the area. Now, in most Dragon Quest games, there are monsters in the overworld, but there seem to be none here. What gives?

In the southwest, there is a chest containing a Medicinal Herb (time 4:48).

In the north, the party enters Estard (time 5:57). Maribel leaves Davilas's company to take care of her own business.

Behind the southwest house, a pot contains 6 gold (time 7:33).

Upstairs in the inn, a chest of drawers contains a Cypress Stick (time 9:45).

Unfortunately, Davilas cannot currently descend the well in the southeast.

The item shop north of the inn sells some basic items and equipment. The chests behind the counter are locked.

Upstairs in the item shop's back rooms, a barrel contains 2 gold (time 14:01).

One of the wardrobes behind Piers contains a Chimaera Wing (time 14:13).

Around the northern side of the church, pots contain some Horse Manure and a whopping 1 gold (time 19:19).

The party takes the stairway south of the church (time 21:19). It leads to a passageway. To the south, it leads down to a house by the cliff southwest of Estard.

One of the barrels outside the house contains a Seed of Wisdom (time 21:44).

On the houses upper level, a pot contains a Chimaera Wing (time 22:16). Unfortunately, the old hermit lurking in the basement is not keen to receive visitors.

Back in Estard, Davilas heads north to Estard Castle (time 24:06).

As he heads inside the castle's entrance hall, he runs into Kiefer (time 24:22). Kiefer is going to head east to check out a place he calls the Shrine of Awakening, and he asks Davilas to keep the king busy for a while. Okay.

Davilas checks the first floor of the castle. There are a few useful services here, including a fortune-teller, an item shop, and a bank. On the northern side of the staircase, there is a stairway leading down to a treasure room locked by the Ultimate Key.

Davilas goes up to the second floor (time 31:13). As he arrives, so does King Donald. The king drags Davilas upstairs to ask him about Kiefer's actions. Then, he asks Davilas to try to talk some sense into Kiefer. Fat chance.

In Kiefer's room on the second floor, a chest of drawers contains a Chimaera Wing (time 37:18). Disappointingly, there is little stuff in the rest of the castle.

On the first floor, Davilas talks to the guard just east of the stairway (time 44:27). The prince is heading to the ruins east of Pilchard Bay ... which are off limits!

Davilas can now get into the dining area and kitchen.

In the kitchen, one of the pots contains a Pilchard Pie (time 46:15).

Also, Davilas can turn over the Fish Bits to one of the cooks in the kitchen (time 46:38).

Davilas heads down the northwest stairway (time 46:57). There is a storage room down here.

Here, he finds an old man who has lost his glasses (time 47:10).

The pots in this room contain a Medicinal Herb, Wrecked Specs, and an Antidotal Herb (time 47:17).

Davilas turns in the glasses to the man (time 47:48).

Afterwards, Davilas heads back to town (time 48:59). He saves at the church. Next time, he will head east to catch up with Kiefer.
