Описание: St Peter’s Church in Hutton Cranswick, East Riding of Yorkshire, is a distinguished medieval Anglican parish church with origins in the 12th and 13th centuries, much of which has been rebuilt and restored over time.
The church is constructed of sandstone ashlar with a grey slate roof, and features a two‑stage west tower, a nave with aisles, a south porch, a chancel with north vestry, and characteristic Perpendicular and Early English architectural elements.

In 1875‑76 the noted Victorian architect Ewan Christian carried out extensive restoration, which included additions such as windows and structural repairs.

It is a Grade II* listed building, recognised for both its historical and architectural value.
The church remains very much active, serving its community through regular services, youth and children’s work, outreach such as food distribution, and by making its hall and facilities available for local use

Bells:
St Peter’s Church in Hutton Cranswick is home to a fine ring of six bells, housed in its west tower. The bells are rung regularly for Sunday services and special occasions, with practice sessions held on Monday evenings, alternating with the nearby parish of Kilham. The ring includes a tenor bell weighing just under 20 cwt, tuned to the note of E, contributing to a full and resonant sound characteristic of English change ringing. Maintained and rung by a dedicated team, the bells at St Peter’s not only enhance the spiritual life of the church but also preserve a centuries-old tradition of community and craftsmanship.
