The Distillery District is a National Historic Site of Canada. It has the largest collection of Victorian-era industrial buildings in North America, the oldest being the Stone Distillery of 1859. In the 1800s, it was the largest exporter of whiskey in the world, providing over 7.6 million liters to the market.
Today, the Distillery District is a popular tourist attraction, being especially popular during the Christmas season for the festive decorations and Christmas markets.
