In the fall of 2021, RTA was one of the first programs to return to correctional facilities since the pandemic began.This film documents RTA's return to in person prison programming.
This project is made possible with funds from ReStart the Arts, a regrant program of ArtsWestchester with support from the Office of the Governor, the New York State Legislature and the New York State Council on the Arts.
About RTA
Rehabilitation Through the Arts (RTA) helps people in prison develop critical life skills through the arts, modeling an approach to the justice system based on human dignity rather than punishment. RTA’s ongoing success is proof that restorative, cost effective programming works. Less than 3% of RTA members return to prison, compared to the national recidivism rate of 60%.
