India’s Gross Domestic Product for FY22 is expected to grow at 8.8% basis ET NOW poll and the GDP is expected to go back to FY20 levels after a degrowth of 7% in FY21. We take a look at what high frequency indicators are suggesting to us with some economists expecting it to surprise on the downside with a 3.5% growth rate. The growth number gains special focus at a time when inflation is seen as spiking and RBI is in liquidity withdrawal mode. The impact of this, though, will come only in Q1 of FY23 so currently, the focus will almost entirely be on the full year GDP and whether the MOSPI expectation of 8.9% is met.
