Let's take a look at another one of Granddad's old guns! This "lever", or "tip-up" action, single shot .22 rifle, was made around 1912-1915 by J. Stevens Arms & Tool Co. Sporting a 22" round barrel and a pretty nice walnut stock, this take-down rifle was the adult version of the Maynard Jr. "Boys rifle". These old rifles usually suffered excessive wear at the link screw in the finger lever mechanism, and this one is no exception. While it's still functional, and before I decide to make the repairs, let's take it out to the range to see how it actually functions.
