Sir Keir Starmer gave an update on the Iran conflict at a Downing Street press conference this afternoon.
The Prime Minister revealed that four extra British Typhoon fighter jets are being deployed to Qatar amid the war in the Middle East and also announced that a Government-chartered flight from Oman to Britain has now taken off.
He acknowledged that people across the UK are "worried sick", adding: "I want to reassure the British public about the action that we are taking while the region has been plunged into chaos.
"My focus is providing calm, level-headed leadership in the national interest." It comes as the Prime Minister has faced criticism over his response to the crisis.
Sir Keir Starmer was also put on the spot over Donald Trump's criticism of him at a press conference on Iran this afternoon.
The Prime Minister was asked about the US President's accusation that he has damaged the special relationship between Britain and America, as well as his jibe that Sir Keir is "no Winston Churchill".
