BGC Manila Shocked Us 🇵🇭 The Richest Area in the Philippines?

BGC in Manila might be the most modern, walkable, and surprising area in the entire Philippines… and this day turned into one of those travel days where everything just kept getting better.

We started the day walking around Bonifacio Global City, right near The Suites at One Bonifacio High Street and the area around Landers in the basement across the street from Megaworld / Uptown Mall. One of the things we love about BGC is how incredibly convenient everything is. Within just a short walk you have malls, shopping, restaurants, nightlife, and even what many people consider the best hospital in the Philippines – St. Luke’s Medical Center.

From there we headed over toward High Street, which is easily one of the best places in Manila to walk around. The whole area is packed with restaurants, cafes, and shopping. You’ll see everything from international brands like Louis Vuitton and luxury boutiques to local Filipino stores, outdoor dining, and street life that feels more like a modern city center than what many people expect when they first visit Manila.

For dinner we went to one of our favorite spots in BGC, Mango Tree, which is a great Thai restaurant we’ve been to many times. We ended up meeting friends there and just enjoying the atmosphere, the food, and the energy of the area at night.

But that was only the beginning of this trip.

Shortly after that, Rob had to travel back to the United States for a wedding, and then Chrissy and Rob ended up flying separately to meet friends in Taipei, Taiwan.

What followed was an incredible 72-hour tour of Taipei.

We explored the city during the Lantern Festival, walked through busy night markets and street shopping areas, tried some amazing foods, and visited famous places like Din Tai Fung, one of the most well known Chinese restaurants in the world.

Of course we also went up Taipei 101, first to the 89th floor observation deck, and then even higher to the 101st floor, where the views of Taipei were absolutely incredible.

Taipei is one of those cities that mixes modern luxury shopping, historic temples, street food, and vibrant nightlife all in one place. From high end malls and luxury stores to local markets and restaurants, there is always something happening.

Between the Airbnbs, hotels, restaurants, shopping, nightlife, and city views, this trip turned into one of those experiences where every day felt completely different from the last.

And just when we thought the trip was winding down…

We headed off to a mystery destination that we’ll reveal in a future video.
