Officials from the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office are seeking the public's assistance in locating an individual connected to a case involving a 2-year-old dog that was reportedly found with drugs in its system.
Officers with the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control responded to a veterinarian's office in Fort Mohave, Arizona, on Wednesday, September 3.
There, they were met with veterinarians, who informed them that a 2-year-old Pitbull-Terrier mix in their care had tested positive for methamphetamine toxicity. The dog would later have to be euthanized due to the internal injuries received from the drug toxicity.
Staff advised officials that the dog had been brought in for treatment by a male and female owner, identified as Marcia Peterson, 40, and Trevor Berry, 35. The following day, officials visited the residence at 2200 Flathead Drive to attempt contact with the owners.
Deputies observed that the interior of the residence was in poor condition, with animal feces covering the floor of a room, indicating that the dog had likely been locked inside for an extended period. They also found drug paraphernalia in plain sight.
Peterson was located, arrested, and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Animal Cruelty, both felonies. Berry remains outstanding, and an arrest warrant for Animal Cruelty has been issued for his arrest, along with other previous warrants.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Trevor Berry is encouraged to contact our office at 928-753-0753 and reference DR#25-033151.
