Quest markers and mini maps have become such a crutch in modern gaming. Instead of taking in the world around you, you are rewarded for staring at the corner of the screen, guided by quest markers or a mini map. While I understand most games won't move towards a no quest markers model, there is a serious case for why quest markers ruin games if not done properly.

In this video, I will go over why quest markers ruin games, why no quest markers is still the best approach, and what developers can do about them moving forward.
