"Context is half of the work. I would never argue for the intrinsic value of these body forms, they are simply cloned, mechanically, industrially produced copies of the human body. It is how they are displayed and where they are displayed that makes them what they are."

"This is quite an interesting first case of art claiming a beach for imagination rather than for recreation in a conventional way. "I am not against art, I'm not a fuddy-duddy (old fashioned) but what we've got to do is get a good balance. And I love them but we've got to put them in another place. And that's what they're called 'Another Place'. They've been in several places. Let somebody have the opportunity around the world, or in the area, to have them. At the moment we believe that they are a danger to our shore."

"People haven't used the shore line for permanent installations of art in quite this way so this is a test, this is a test case but I don't' think there is any logical reason why it shouldn't find a permanent home. If it isn't Crosby, somewhere else."
