The first group of South African men who were trapped in Russia have arrived home. Nineteen men, mostly from KwaZulu-Natal, were allegedly lured to Russia under false pretenses and subsequently deployed to the frontlines of the war in Ukraine. They left the country in July last year.
For the past seven months, their families made desperate pleas to the government in assist to secure their safe return.
