This is a unboxing and #review of the Fox Valley Models Norfolk & Western Class J #611 Spirit of Roanoke. #scaletrains bought MTH and this is their first HO steam locomotive. In this video we unbox, Review, test, verify accuracy and operation on my Texas & Pacific HO RR.
One might ask why I would be running an Eastern RR on the T&P?
In the early 80's 2 gentlemen introduced Clayton, Darrel, and I to MetroMod which was a modular rr system that traveled to various venues to display and run HO scale trains for the public. John Magg and Ted Marrs loved their Norfolk & Western Trains and that is how it all began!
This Train set is to the memory of John and Ted.
Before I put the locomotive on the track I applied NO-OX contact cleaner to the Drawbar and Wheel Contacts as suggested by others.
Please share your opinions and comments!
Tip: Remember to always kill power to the track before placing your model on the track, and verify that all wheels are properly on track before applying power. This process will protect your decoder from inadvertent shorts which can fry your decoder.
