The right gear can make all the difference and with a bit of additional planning, there's no reason to confine your hikes to just in the summer! Winter in Washington is a great time to get outside and experience trails in a whole new light. Although winter weather can be unpredictable and can make dressing for your hike feel a bit more challenging — once you get your layering system down, you'll be ready for (nearly) anything.
