Bristol Airport is located on the Mendip Hills. At 600ft it is the UK's highest international airport and overlooks the River Severn Estuary and South Wales. The prevailing winds are from the Atlantic and the airport location can occasionally bring low cloud. The short runway of 2, 011 meters together with winter weather can make for some challenging landings.
