while listening to the extremely beautiful Lark Ascending, a romance for violin and orchestra by Ralph Vaughan Williams I was inspired to try out something new. using Vaughan Williams motifs, harmonies and overall sound I tried to reorganise these little building blocks and add some of my own - like a little homage to one of my favourite composers. with this idea "v a u g h a n" was born. a three track release that was solely composed and performed on mlre, a script running on monome norns shield.

trying to be a bit adventurous and annoyingly puristic, I decided to finish the tracks and perform them while visiting London. here is "lark" which uses material from Lark Ascending mixed with my own stuff from Cocoquantus and OP-1. the video is just a little montage of our journey with a DLR train to Greenwich, some random shots of London life and people gazing through the pub's window. hopefully it fits the music well enough.
