Описание: A gun is like a car: if you want it to serve you well and not fail you at a critical moment, you need to do regular maintenance. The good news is that guns are a lot less complicated than modern cars, but they do need to be cleaned periodically to ensure their reliability and longevity. This is particularly important as you rack up training visits to your local shooting range. How often you should clean varies from one gun to another and also depends on the ammo you're shooting. The owner's manual for your gun should tell you how often it needs to be cleaned. It's important to track how many rounds you put through your gun, kind of like tracking mileage between oil changes. An easy way to do that is to log how many boxes of ammo you shoot during each range visit. When you clean the gun, you'll probably have to partially disassemble it - but make sure it's UNLOADED first! Follow the disassembly instructions in the owner's manual and watch the Brownells Maintenance Series video for your particular gun. While you're cleaning, visually inspect the moving parts for wear or damage. Once you've cleaned out the gunk, lubricate metal-to-metal contact points with an oil designed for firearms. Don't over lubricate, but a dirty gun that's well-lubed is more reliable than a dirty gun that's dry. Reassemble the gun and do a function check so you know it's working correctly.
