How to set up selection in blender 2.8X like in 2.7X

In Blender, I always use Right click select, and I surprised, then my friend told me that he has some issues with selection in blender 2.8 series. And he sent me this comparison:    • Fixing Blender 2.8 left click selection  

So why does selection in 2.8 series worse than 2.7, and why doesn't Right click select have this issues?

Any hotkey has several event options. First we need to find out what Press and Click are. These events are triggered in turn. First, when the button is pressed, Press is triggered. Then, when we release the key, Release occurs. Click event triggers only when these two events happens at a minimum distance from each other.

Perhaps you noticed this effect in any interface, when you clicked a button, then changed your mind, moved the mouse pointer away from the button - and the click event didn’t trigger

In version 2.80 in selection, the press event was replaced by click, only for left click select.
It was done in order to be able to select elements with a select box. If some element selected before selection box, this is not very convenient. So if you click and drag - box selection appears, if not drag - select element. On right click select the select box and selection are on different buttons, so there is no such problem. However, if you use tweak tool, selection can be recovered to the 2.7 series performance.

To make it happens, you need to know something else. This is about the hotkey hierarchy. There are groups of keyboard maps that take precedence over others. If a hotkey is processed by a combination with a high priority keymap, it does not go further. I used this effect in my quick instance add-on. If you click on the tab, the add-on checks if the selected object is an empty. If not, add-on skips the event and it goes further through keymaps.

In tweak tool the highest priority has this keymap, but it works only if tweak tool is selected. As you see it has selection with press already. That mean, that select one element without Shift is good. But what about shift-click? It uses hot key from this keymap. We will make new hotkey here, that will not mess up select box instrument. Press “Add new” and copy-paste command here. Change event to mouse, add Shift modifier and don’t forget set Toggle selection. When try setup, looks good!

That about tweaking? In 2.7 series we may tweak selected elements, not only one. There are two ways to do this. First way just remove deselect on nothing. In this way, you can tweak instead deselect, and maybe you prefer this. Another way is make tweak with shift, it also not perfect, because pressing event will go first, and it will select, then tweak. To make this event copy command from any translate event. And finally you can make also loop select and peek the shortest path events on press. It is not so annoying as shift-click, but if you want, you can change it also.
