Blink - Cello (alternative version from A Demo of the Universe)

Описание: Blink released 3 studio albums from 1994 to 2004, but a little known fact is that they actually wrote and recorded over 100 tracks, many of which were live favourites, and remained unreleased as the band lapsed from one set of adventures to the next, for a variety of reasons.

This album features many of the unreleased band favourites from the "A map Of The Universe" era.

The first 13 tracks are in the same order as "A Map Of The Universe", and contain original demos, live versions, pre-production versions, all previously unreleased until now.

From early versions of Cello, where the band performed alongside a cassette tape deck with an old microphone stuck into it's broken speaker, as they supported Neds Atomic Dustbin in McGonagles in 1991, right through to live versions of tracks from Wembley Arena and The Aberdeen Exhibition Centre on the 1994 tour with Crowded House, a collaboration with Scary Eire's DJ Mek, to the very first demo tape of 'Happy Day' which effectively got the band signed, beginning a roller coaster of 14 years of touring and recording.

"A Map Of The Universe By Blink is still one of the biggest achievements that I have ever been involved in, and I've done some pretty hectic things in my life," says Dermot Lambert "It set a benchmark for Blink as a band, and probably a few others too, but whenever I write the big memoir, my story of this album will really be one about following dreams with my big brother Aiden, who was a vital part of this album happening, he understood the achievement of this long before I ever did, and many of the Blink fans that came to the shows and followed us around the place understood more about the album than I ever did in so many ways too.

"A Map Of The Universe didn't just belong to Blink" says Dermot Lambert, "It belonged to the so many other people who lived in those magical moments at all those gigs, in the sweaty clubs and pubs, and all of us waiting for our lives to unfold.
