Through visualizing a methodology for collaborative project management, this session addresses challenges faced in creating mass art content with a condensed core game team for Need for Speed. Youyou Wu from Virtuos and Johan Petersson of Ghost Games (EA) share their findings such as the importance of being 100% transparent with partners and treating internal /external teams as though they are a comprehensive and unified dev team. With this at the forefront, Virtuos and Ghost brought the traditional “over-the-fence” outsourcing model to the next level, being “customized integration”. They discuss the step–by–step methodology for ramping up an external team in a short period of time, along with the strategy for significant integration with the core game team.
