In January 2026, I had the chance to film Team Sea Change Atlantic during a winter training row from Fowey to Lantic Bay on the Cornish coast. This session was part of their preparation for a truly epic challenge: rowing 3,200 miles across the Atlantic Ocean.
In January 2027, four ordinary men from the South West of England will take on the world’s longest organised rowing event, The Atlantic Dash - rowing nonstop from Lanzarote in the Canary Islands to Antigua. Several weeks at sea. No support boat. Just grit, teamwork, and determination.
Sea Change Atlantic is rowing to raise vital funds for Parkinson’s UK and Axminster & Lyme Cancer Support, while also championing the power of the ocean to improve health and wellbeing - a concept known as Blue Health. Their mission blends personal challenge, giving back, and a deep respect for our marine environment.
This project proves that age is no barrier to adventure, and that ordinary people can do extraordinary things when driven by purpose.
If you’d like to follow their journey, support their fundraising, or get involved as a sponsor, check out Sea Change Atlantic and be part of the adventure.
