I was a novice to slats. I’ve learned a lot about slats this season!
Every show I do gets bigger and more complex. Unfortunately, my budget doesn't grow as fast (sound familiar?). I needed to find an affordable slat solution for my proximate positions that just works. @muuxBRD (owned by fellow pyro, C. J. Jurczak) saves the day with his QuickLever and QuickConnect RJ45 slats. This is legit quality stuff folks. I wouldn't recommend it otherwise. I don't know how it's so affordable... but it is!
muuxBRD isn't just slats. They also offer a variety of Quick-Split (a.k.a. breakout boards) and other custom firing system PCB solutions tailored to all the popular firing systems!
In this video, I show how I use the QuickLever and QuickConnect slats to utilize two 18M modules across 5 positions. In addition, I did some testing on how many MJG I could fire at one time with an 18M using the included 14.8V LiPo battery.
