Organist Norbert Ludwig (1902-1960) performs "Silent Night, Holy Night" by Franz Gruber (1787-1863) on the organ of the Albemarle Theatre, Brooklyn NY (USA).
78 rpm, label Imperial No. 1667, matrix 879, from around 1926.
The Albemarle Theatre (973 Flatbush Avenue) was opened on 16 March 1920 and had 2700 seats.
The company from Mathias Peter Møller (1854-1937) installed an organ here with three manuals and 17 stops as Opus 2907. The theatre was closed in 1984 after a fire. The building still exists but the current situation about the organ is unknown for me.
Note: The name ‘Lodwig’ that is spelled on the 78 rpm label is incorrect, and must be ‘Ludwig’.
