Noctis has always been an admirer of singer Yuna, but she is a performer and therefore he does not try to meet her because he is of a wealthy family and he knows it would never work. He, however, attends all of her concerts in secret. He starts to date Light, his sister Stella's body guard, but he doesn't love her because she is cold and calculating. However, to keep his family happy he proposes and she says yes, much to Stella's joy.
During this time he meets Yuna at a private party she is performing at. They spend the next few months spending time together having fun and laughing, but his father and sister start to get suspicious. His father reminds him that Yuna is not good enough and when he tells his sister he can't stop thinking about her she warns him not to fall in love with her, but it's too late. He knows she loves him to, but she respects his relationship and never said anything.
He breaks off the wedding and waits for Yuna to return and she is so happy to see him she runs to hug him and is surprised by a kiss and he tells her he broke it off, and why- for her. However, they do not know that Light had seen it all.
She never knew about his feelings for Yuna, everyone kept it a secret from her, and she is upset, so upset she punches him! Stella runs, trying to keep her from seeing, but is too late. He tells them the truth and that he plans on marrying Yuna, and lightning attacks Yuna, but she dodges, firing at her. Stella has no choice but to join in on the fight, calling forth soldiers to protect her, but Noctis just slices through them. Yuna then Summons Odion and commands him to fight Light. Stella uses her magic to stun Noctis and kill Odion, protecting Light, but he comes out of it and stuns her, not wanting to kill his little sister of course. Lightning then grabs a rocket launcher and fires it at Noctis, and Yuna uses her magic to subdue her, and to Light's anger, she sees Noctis is unharmed.
