Cairo's light rail transit starts in Adly Mansour station (which is connected to Cairo metro line 3). Egypt has definitely outdone itself with its simple yet major differences between Cairo metro and LRT.
LRT is a low cost, low axle load, eco-friendly form of transportation with low noise and vibrations. Cairo's LRT uses contactless tickets in the form of a card instead of paper tickets used at Cairo metro.
With its modern infrastructure and superb cleanliness , this form of transportation will grow stronger in use over the next few years. Egypt is constantly growing and building new cities. Cairo's LRT provides easy access to new urban communities such as:
Obour City
Shorouk City
Future City
New Heliopolis
Badr City.... At this station, the tracks separate turning North towards 10th of Ramadan City and South towards the New Administrative Capital.
Both the 10th of Ramadan Branch and New Administrative Capital branch still have stations under construction. 10th of Ramadan has 2 open stations and 3 under construction. New Administrative Capital has 4 open stations with 4 under construction and 1 currently under studying.
Ticket Pricing
Up to 3 stations = 10 EGP
Up to 7 stations = 15 EGP
More than 7 stations = 20 EGP
10/10 recommend using Cairo's light rail transit for transportation! It's a quick, smooth experience and better for the environment while still remaining affordable for metro users.
