Hi there! I’m Lindsey Malc, BCBA - Behaviour Analyst at Side by Side Therapy

Описание: I am Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) from Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. I practice Applied Behaviour Analysis. My practice is geared towards preschool, school aged and adolescent clients and their families.

I became a BCBA in 2013. I have a Masters of Applied Disability Studies from Brock University. I also hold an Honours Bachelors of Social Work degree from Lakehead University.

I have worked with dozens of families in private schools, in a therapy clinic and in the community. I have held many positions during my career: from classroom assistant to Behaviour Analyst.

For over 10 years, I worked at a private school and treatment centre called Zareinu Educational Centre (now known as Kayla’s Children Centre). At Zareinu, I was exposed to a number of other disciplines and their methods have shaped my practice. I developed an eclectic practice that respects the value that these allied disciplines bring.

In my time at Zareinu, I was able to expand my knowledge of a number of evidence-based interventions for autism spectrum disorder.

I received advanced training in the Structured Teaching Method (TEACCH) and introductory training in the Early Start Denver Model.

I am an Ontario Autism Program approved Clinical Supervisor. As a Clinical Supervisor I am skilled at designing and supervising ABA therapy programs for children with autism spectrum disorder. I am able to create comprehensive as well as focused ABA programs. I design programs that are evidence-based, effective and meaningful.

A theme in my work has been addressing challenging behaviours. I utilize Functional Behaviour Assessments and Functional Analyses to determine the function of behaviour before creating function based interventions.

I am focused on empowering families to address the challenging behaviour of their children. I am devoted to working with the family team to improve the quality of life for both the child and the family. I believe that teaching the parents is one of the best ways to impact the child.

Mission statement

Parents of children with autism or other special needs often have a very difficult time understanding their child’s challenging behaviour.  We create specialized, function-based interventions that teach the skills necessary to reduce and replace these behaviours.  As a result, the family achieves an improved quality of life.
