How can schools create inclusive learning environments for all students, regardless of their background or needs?
This short documentary takes you inside Escolas Secundária José Saramago in Poceirão, Portugal, a school serving students from diverse and often disadvantaged socio‑economic contexts.
Filmed as part of the IncludEU4AllNeets project, jointly led by the European Trade Union Committee for Education (ETUCE/CSEE) and the European Federation of Education Employers (EFEE), this visit brings together teachers, school leaders, union representatives, employers, and international experts to reflect on what truly makes inclusion work in practice.
Through interviews and on‑site footage, the film highlights:
The importance of shared commitment across teachers, school leaders, policymakers, and communities.
How democratic leadership and ongoing professional learning shape inclusive schools.
Why inclusion is not a destination but a continuous process.
The value of European cooperation, learning from each other’s experiences and challenges.
-How schools like José Saramago create a sense of belonging and give students the confidence to aspire beyond their circumstances.
This video is part of a series documenting inclusive practices across Europe, produced with the support of the IncludEU4AllNeets project.
