Описание: On October 3, 1965, President Lyndon Baines Johnson signed The Immigration and Nationality Act, also known as The Hart Cellar Act, lifting the restrictive 41-year-old national origins quotas and ushering in a new era of immigration. Join sociologist Nancy Foner, historian Mae Ngai, and New York City demographer Joe Salvo at Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute for a conversation moderated by Hunter College’s Margaret Chin on how this law impacted New York City and the nation, and how it continues to impact the national conversation on immigration to this day.
