Beca was a finalist in the category of Sub-Contractor or SME of the Year - Product in 2024. Every year nominations for these Awards of Excellence are sought from New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) staff and personnel, staff of the Ministry of Defence, and from Defence industry.
Beca was commissioned to design and deliver two Close-In Weapons System simulator consoles for frigate operatoins, to enable training of up to three Royal New Zealand Navy students concurrently. In addition, an instructor console was delivered to enable communications and management of the multi-student training environments. As a simulated environment, this capability enables scenarios to be created and a significant increase in training availability.
