Roro MV Asia Philippines on fire
The Philippine Coast Guard said they rescued some 39 individuals from roro vessel MV Asia Philippines, which caught fire off Batangas Port on Friday afternoon.
The roro vessel had a total of 82 individuals on board--48 passengers and 34 crew members--along with 16 rolling cargoes. The passenger capacity is at 402.
Some 73 individuals have been rescued as of 7:30 p.m., while operations are still ongoing. A 44-year-old female was brought to the hospital due to an injury.
