Описание: This time I explored India's mysterious and unconquered Sea forts. Janjira Fort and Padmadurg are ingenious engineering marvels at the offshore of Murud beach in Raigad district of Maharashtra. It takes 2 to 3 hours to reach Murud by road from Mumbai. Janjira is situated on an island few hundred meters from the coastline and it's defense system has remained unbroken over centuries. Ruled by the Siddie kings, Janjira embarks the state of art architecture. The large bastions with numerous huge cannons made invasion impossible for many.
Padmadurg, built by the Marathas was a challenge to Janjira to rule over the Raigad area. This Lotus shaped fort was built amidst shelling from Janjira in the Arabian sea.
Let us uncover the ruins that still gives goosebumps.
