The Austin Jazz Society (AJS) initiated “Project Safety Net” (PSN) in late March as way to assist Austin jazz musicians whose livelihood was significantly affected by the loss of gig income due to the pandemic.

In late May AJS and Monks Jazz collaborated to start a weekly live streaming series with the objectives of providing gig income to the musicians, raising additional funds for PSN and allowing live performances to be enjoyed by jazz fans near and far.

Each band leader from our streaming series has selected one song from their performance to create a “Best of 2020 AJS Live Streams” YouTube collection. Please enjoy any and all of these musicians’ choice performances.
