Bangalore-based graphic artist Acid Toad a.k.a. Gaurav Basu seeks to explore a world he sees only in his mind's eye, where any resemblance to real persons, places and things is purely coincidental.
Drawing influences from alternative and underground subcultures, given his penchant for the bizarre, Basu's work is often described as dark and psychedelic and has found takers in the Indian independent music scene. Basu is also the frontman of death/thrash metal outfit Inner Sanctum. The creative pursuits don’t stop there. Basu also co-owns Bangalore based design studio Krack’n Inc. Together with fellow Artist Agni Janakiram they create visual design languages for brands they collaborate with. I am Gaurav Basu, a graphic designer & illustrator from Bangalore India. I enjoy and appreciate interesting forms of art and design.My other interests include Music (most forms of metal - death,thrash,stoner,sludge and post/prog and alt rock), photography, good food and developing evil schemes to fulfill my aspirations of global domination. I also play for a Bangalore based death/thrash metal band called Inner Sanctum This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
