In this first episode, we take you through the full story of finding and preparing our Renault Twingo for the Twing Raid 2026 — a charitable rally from northern Spain through Morocco with 439 teams, all driving Twingos.

From sourcing the car (spoiler: it took two Twingos and a lot of patience), to building a bull bar, welding an aluminum roof rack, fabricating underbody protection plates, fitting a snorkel with cyclone filter, and raising the ride height with Audi 80 and Clio 1 springs — we walk you through every modification we made to get this 20-year-old car desert-ready.

We also talk about keeping modifications non-destructive, saving weight by stripping the interior and removing the A/C, and the last-minute temperature sensor fix on the road to inspection day in Irún, Spain.
